Crowdfunding campaign to fund real cows for vulnerable families in rural Rwanda

JCI Molde, in cooperation with JCI Kigali and JCI Rubavu, presents the Cowfundme campaign.

Like many other Sub-Saharan countries, Rwanda struggles with a model for sustainable economic growth in rural areas: low agricultural productivity and lack of industrial growth have been biggest challenges in rural Rwanda. A substantial number of rural families depend on subsistence agriculture on small farmlands. This set up led to wide scale poverty and low level income for farmers. Rural areas in Rwanda face critical food insecurity, high unemployment and health risk.  

With the Cowfundme campaign we will be funding real cows for vulberable families as a form of economc investment for sustainable development.

Positive effects of Cowfundme campaign are:

  • reduce local unemployment
  • support economic self sustainability for vulnerable families
  • boost local economy for dairy products
